AR017 - V/A Day Of The Dubstep Screenprinted Promo Mix Compilation CD

$9.99
sold out

Man, this thing is a beast. Multiple sets from some of philly’s finest DJs, all with their “take” on the burgeoning heavy bass scene in our fair city, captured April 28th 2011 in 3 different locations including Medusa Lounge, Lodge 215, and a secret underground afterparty. Mixed in its entirety by BHB and featuring DJ Ruxbin, DJ Sega, Kid Queasy and more! A lot would go on to change, but we pissed all over our territory with this one and the scent still faintly lingers today. Better than the majority of “bass music” to follow, this mix is the perfect time capsule for a moment when we were pushing speakers and dBs as hard as our minds and bodies.

Shout out to Dan Kress for the killer screenprinted art and CD: this came in multiple screenprinted color editions (out of 45 total), and a 2nd edition in jewel cases with a smaller version of his amazingly blasphemous D.O.T.D. flyer (anywhere from 5 to 50 exist) - that one caused a stir, for sure. But always remember these words, Angus: SCREW EM.

10 copies going up for sale eventually in different colors, because we found some of Dan’s screenprinted edition in a box so we wanna get those into the hands of fine art appreciators everywhere ASAP. Keep it peeled!
